What Projects Do We Fund?
The Up with People Foundation supports initiatives that bring people together through music, service, and/or youth leadership.
We provide small, focused grants (generally up to $10,000) for projects that are clear, time-bound, and aligned with our mission.

We fund:

  • Initiatives that foster connection across cultures and communities
  • Programs centered around music, education, performance, and community development
  • New ideas with strong potential to inspire action

We prioritize projects that:

  • Create measurable impact
  • Reflect our values of integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, and connectivity
  • Build bridges between people and communities
  • Are realistic, well-defined, and achievable

We do not fund:

  • Expenses already incurred
  • Political campaigns or lobbying
  • Religious activities
  • Projects without clear accountability or reporting
  • The Foundation does not support requests for general operating expenses or ongoing organizational costs.

Application Process

Review eligibility & application guidelines
Before applying, please review our mission, vision, and values, funding priorities, eligibility requirements, and application guidelines to ensure your project is a strong fit.
Complete the application
Fill out the application form and provide clear information about your project, goals, timeline, impact, and funding needs. You may also be asked to upload supporting materials such as budgets, organizational documents, or additional project information.
Review and decision
Applications are evaluated by Up with People Foundations's Selection Committee in two funding cycles each year. You will be notified via email once a decision has been made.

Grant Eligibility

  • Who can apply?
    • Registered nonprofit organizations (e.g., 501(c)(3) entities or international equivalents)
    • For-profit organizations (e.g., LLCs, corporations)
    • Individuals
    • Applicants worldwide
  • Project requirements
    • Align with Up with People Foundation's mission and values
    • Include a clear plan, timeline, and use of funds
    • Demonstrate community engagement and positive outcome.
  • Funding approach
    • Responsible and transparent use of funds
    • Clear accountability and reporting
  • Maximum grant amount
    Applications are reviewed in two funding cycles each year, with up to $10,000 available per cycle.
    • Individual Projects: Grants of up to $500
    • Organizational Projects: Organizations may request up to $10,000 per application. Funding may be distributed across multiple selected projects based on available resources and the number of qualified applications received.

Review Timeline
Applications are reviewed in two cycles each year, with funding of up to $10,000 available per cycle. Please see the deadlines below for each cycle.

Spring Cycle
  • Application opens: January 1
  • Application deadline: March 31
  • Review period: April–May
  • Decision deadline: May 31

Fall Cycle
  • Application opens: July 1
  • Application deadline: September 30
  • Review period: October–November
  • Decision deadline: November 30

Please note that during the review process, applicants may be contacted with follow-up questions or requests for additional documentation. Collaboration and communication may be required as part of the application and funding process to help ensure alignment, clarity, and successful project support.

Projects may:
  • Not be accepted
  • Be accepted and featured on our website to help raise funds
  • Be accepted, featured, and receive direct financial support from the Foundation
Applications are reviewed twice a year, with funding up to $10,000 per cycle.
