INTERESTS/PASSIONS: Music has always been my passion. I’M HAPPIEST WHEN: Every time I have a musical epiphany. I love it. THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: I get inspired when young people take action with the intention of making our world a better place. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: We have now passed 100,000 inhabitants. That's pretty wicked!

Alicen Schade

Cast Manager

EDUCATION: Completed a degree in Political Science with a minor in History, Catholic Studies, and Dance INTERESTS/PASSIONS: Building community, interfaith dialogue, the Olympics, reading and taking on challenging endeavors. I’M HAPPIEST WHEN: I'm most happy when I hear people singing together, when I see people helping each other without being asked to, and when I get to witness people settling into a sense of belonging. THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: My generation creates space for everyone. It doesn't matter where you're from, what you've been through, how you identify, what you have or don't have - we will open our arms to you. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: Many places I've lived have made me who I am - NJ, PA, OH, IL, UT, GA, Italy... I grew up mostly in the Midwest, and something I love is how everyone greets each other on the street with a wave and a smile, whether you've seen each other a thousand times or are friends that haven't met yet.

Alfredo Villacana

Education Coordinator

EDUCATION: Completed a degree in Business. INTERESTS/PASSIONS: Politics, Philosophy, and Cooperative Games. I’M HAPPIEST WHEN: I’m spending time with my family. THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: They are becoming more ecologically aware of our world and environment. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: There is a volcano in my hometown and it’s the only one you can actually reach the crater by car.

Allison Santa

Social Media Coordinator

INTERESTS/PASSIONS: People, art, education, social movements, lots of things! I’M HAPPIEST WHEN: I'm most happy when the sun is shining, the weather is just right, and I'm surrounded by people I love. I’m also happy if I'm running on a beautiful day or am able to do something with art. THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: I think the most positive thing about my generation is how strong-willed we are. There are so many things currently happening in the world that can get people fired up, but instead of just complaining about it, I've noticed the people around me trying to do what they can to contribute to help fixing the issue. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: I live in the suburbs of Atlanta and I love how close to the city I am, but also not too far from a hike or waterfalls and rivers.I love going to the Roswell Mill or Tallulah Gorge over the summer. Both are so beautiful and relaxing.

THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: The most positive thing about my generation is that I see a lot of people my age from various origins that are very aware of social and environmental needs and are willing to do something about it. Most of them think outside-of-the-box and become entrepreneurs. I am proud that they have developed a lot of projects that help other people as well as projects that help protect the environment we live in. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: Argentina is a very special country. Family and friends are key components of our everyday life. We build up strong relationships that last a whole lifetime. For example, my parents are still friends with some of their school friends. I also used to do personalized free walking tours, so it is hard to pick one. I would say I loved to take people to an Urban Archeological Museum called "El Zanjón de Granados" in the historic neighborhood of San Telmo.

THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: There are so many strong and inspirational young people making enormous strides to innovate and change the world. It makes me proud to know that everyone's passions are different, but that everyone can be agents of change for their cause to better the world. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: The front range of Colorado has amazing views, people, and food! I love taking people biking along the Frisco Trail.

EDUCATION: Completed a degree in Child, Adult and Family Services as well as Spanish. INTERESTS/PASSIONS: Social justice, human rights, being outside, empowering others, and learning random information. I’M HAPPIEST WHEN: When I am outside in nature with family and friends. THE MOST POSITIVE THING ABOUT MY GENERATION IS: I am very lucky that I have gotten to meet so many inspiring, motivated youth through Up with People both in the cast and in communities over the last couple of years. I feel like our generation is very aware of issues going on in the world, and taking action to change them. I love being able to turn on the news and see movements or marches completely led by youth. I am proud of our sense of urgency and strive to look at how to solve world problems. SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT WHERE I AM FROM IS: Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes (although we actually have close to 12,000). People are generally out on lakes all year round. In the summer, people are out on boats, swimming and walking around the lakes and in the winter people are out ice skating, ice fishing, etc. The lakes are not only beautiful, but also create such an active community feel.
