Meet the Cast: Arizona from Kosovo

Thanks to amazing donors like you, young people from all over the world have the chance to travel because of the various scholarships and grants available to future travelers.

One example is Arizona, an Up with People scholarship recipient from Kosovo. Up with People provided Arizona the opportunity to visit the United States for the first time, and she was kind enough to share with us about her experiences so far on tour. Interview with Arizona, Scholarship Winner from Kosovo

Why did you decide to travel in Up with People?

“I decided to join Up With People because to me, it was a unique way to combine my desire to serve others, my passion for sharing hope with the world, and my eagerness to learn from new challenges.”

Congratulations on receiving a scholarship! Can you tell us a little more about this?

“I was the happiest I have ever been when I found out that I was one of the scholarship recipients for Up with People! It was my dream to be a cast member and I couldn’t have done it without this scholarship. To future applicants, I would  say you just have to be passionate about the program, be yourself, and do not be afraid to express it.”

How did receiving a scholarship help you be able to pursue your travel experience in Up with People?

“After finding out that I received the scholarship, I knew I really needed to start putting myself to work. I knew what I needed to do to get to Up with People. It motivated me to not give up and to continue to work hard to make the most of my experience on tour.”

How has traveling in the Up with People program impacted you so far?

“The opportunity to travel in different regions has enriched my cultural awareness and provided me with valuable insights and skills for any future career path.”

What are some of the benefits you have received from traveling in Up with People?

“I have made a lot of connections, I have met a lot of wonderful people, and now I have friends from all over the world. It’s priceless!”

What challenges have you overcome since traveling?

“I have overcome my insecurities. I have learned that I am unique and that I should embrace that.”

What has been your favorite part since starting the program?

Everything I have experienced until now lives within me and I get to share that. The young, energetic, talented people you meet will become family and make every day your favorite memory.”

Why is Up with People an important program for young people to experience?

“It teaches you to be in the moment.”

What advice would you give to someone considering to travel in Up with People?

“Go for it, it’s a once in a lifetime experience.”
